easter:

 This Easter I decided to finally attempt to make little sculptures using marzipan.

I saw these carrot cupcakes in one of Martha Stewart's books and

wanted to make them.

I thought it would be difficult, but it really wasn't and the marzipan carrots on top 

of the cream cheese frosting turned out cute! At least that is what everyone

kept saying.



It was such fun making these and now I want to make more little

sculptures.

Unexpectedly, I had an extra day off from work today-so I decided to treat myself

to this visiting exhibit at the mfah. 

These lovely paintings are from National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C.

It always amazes me how extra small or extra large certain paintings

are when I actually get to see them physically and no longer

through books.  Books are great, but when it comes

to art so much is lost-the texture or the light for instance.

I'm so glad I got to see this exhibit before it left and I renewed

my museum membership as well-a win win situation.
